The Broadalbin-Perth High School Senior/Junior Prom is rapidly approaching. This year’s prom will take place on Friday, May 11 at the Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia. The junior class has decided on a prom theme of “Night of Enchantment.”
There will be a slight twist this year as we offer the prom on a Friday. This letter is being sent in advance of the prom to outline expectations and provide pertinent information.
Students who are attending the prom are required to attend school as usual on Friday, May 11. We will dismiss on an as-needed basis for students who have purchased tickets to participate in the prom at 10:32 a.m. Any student who is absent or leaves before 10:32 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the prom. Students will be required to present a note with a parent signature in order to leave early by signing out in the main office.
As always, this event is for the students, but in order to make it safe and fun for everyone involved please be aware of the following expectations. Although Glen Sanders is an off-campus facility, we require students to follow our current code of conduct policy, which is available here. This is a school-sponsored event and school rules apply. Students who engage in misconduct prior to the prom may be prohibited from attending the prom with no refund. Attending the prom is a privilege and should be treated as such, both leading up to and through the conclusion of the event.
Transportation will be provided by the school to Glen Sanders for the prom at approximately 6:15 p.m. The bus will leave from the gymnasium entrance to the high school. Immediately following the conclusion of the prom, buses will transport students to the post-prom party at Via Port in Rotterdam. From Via Port, students will board the buses at 2:30 a.m. for the return trip to the high school.
Students may be transported to prom and the post-prom party by parents and/or limo, but they MAY NOT drive themselves to either event.
Thank you to everyone for their hard work in setting the stage for what should be a night to remember! If you have any questions, please call our main office at (518) 954-2600.
Sincerely,
Mark Brooks, Principal
Adam Barnhart, Assistant Principal
