Broadalbin-Perth student-athletes stepped onto the newly resurfaced Patriot Field for the first time the morning of Monday, Aug. 14, as they began practices for the fall sports season.
The turf at Patriot Field was replaced as part of Phase 1 of the district’s $39.7 million capital project, which was approved by voters in May 2016.
The track surrounding Patriot Field is also slated to be resurfaced. That work is expected to be completed prior to the start of the 2018 outdoor track and field season.
Capital construction work continues on new baseball and softball fields and a re-routed entrance drive from Route 126/Pine Street at the Broadalbin campus, as well as an expanded parking lot and new access road at the Perth campus. Work affecting traffic flow and parking at both campuses is expected to be completed prior to the start of the 2017-18 school year.
