Summer Academy students in Hope DeZolt’s and Doris Dyer’s class collected donations and supplies to benefit the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society. The class started the collection while learning about animals and habitats such as African safaris. DeZolt said the class sponsored a rescued animal from Africa. On Wednesday, students dressed up in safari hats, cameras and binoculars that they handcrafted in class before going outside to have a safari on the playground.
