Broadalbin-Perth sixth-grader Emily Mickan has been selected to attend the 2016 ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp at Rensselaer Polytech
nic Institute.
The camp is a two week residential program with the theme of “Nanotechnology: It’s a Small, Small World.” The goal of the camp activities and events is to increase students’ math and science skills, expose them to college life and introduce theme to careers in the science and engineering fields.
RPI selected 36 students currently in fifth through seventh grade who attend school in surrounding 20 counties, have at least a B average in silence and math courses, a passing score on the state’s standardized science and math tests and two teacher recommendations.
