The graduation rate for Broadalbin-Perth High School was the highest among schools in Fulton and Montgomery counties for 2015, rising to 91 percent, according to a recent report released by the New York State Education Department.
The 2015 rate is an improvement of 6 percentage points from the 2014 rate, which was 85 percent. The percentage is based on the number of students who graduated in June of 2015 in their fourth year of high school.
The dropout rate at Broadalbin-Perth also declined from 8 percent in 2014 to 3 percent in 2015.
“The growth in the graduation rate at Broadalbin-Perth speaks to dedication of our high school staff, who consistently invest in our students to ensure their individual success,” Superintendent Stephen Tomlinson said. “Throughout their academic careers, we strive to connect what students are learning in the classroom to their lives and future careers.”
According to NYSED, the statewide average graduation rate for 2015 was 78 percent, and the dropout rate was 7 percent.
