First-graders in Katie Murphy’s class and kindergartners in Beth Tomlinson’s class gathered Wednesday, Jan. 20, for a Winter Writing Celebration, inviting adult guests from the school district to share the books they had created.
During the celebration, the students each had the opportunity to read their writing to the guests, who included TLC custodians Edward Kilmartin, John Nelli, Kathy Kilmartin and Stacey Case; Superintendent Stephen Tomlinson; TLC Principal Brad Strait; teaching assistant Kim Buchanan; and Director of Operations and Safety Mike Carney.
“It’s great for them to write for an audience, to have a purpose and to have the opportunity to share their work with others,” Beth Tomlinson said.
“It’s also always good to celebrate the end of a unit,” Murphy said.
