Students in Rachel Shrome’s 9th grade honors math class this week created mini-golf dioramas as part of a geometry lesson.
Students first sketched scale drawings of their designs, which had to fit inside the lid of a shoe box. They had to include at lease two obstacles and determine how much it would cost to create life-sized versions of their designs.
One student built his golf hole within a 3D model of The Colosseum, while another created his diorama using only parts produced by a 3D printer.
In total, 22 mini-golf holes were created and students will select the top three next week.
