While students, faculty and staff were enjoying their spring break, construction crews began work on the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District’s $39.7 million capital project, which was approved by voters in May 2016.
The first item checked off the project list was the demolition of the maintenance building at the Perth campus. Phase 1 work includes more than doubling the number of parking spaces at the Perth site, and the footprint of the maintenance building is in the area designated for the new, expanded parking lot. Construction workers have fenced off the space where the building once stood to keep vehicles and pedestrians safely away from it. Normal traffic patterns will apply in the parking lot during the week of April 24-28.
Members of the school community can stay up-to-date about capital project work by visiting the capital project page on the district website. In addition, information about any changes to the normal operation or use of school facilities will be posted to the district Facebook page and shared with faculty, staff, parents and residents through email and the B-P mobile app (available for Apple and Android devices).
