Four ninth-graders participated in the Greater Capital Region Science & Engineering Fair at RPI over the weekend.
Miles Compani, Emily MacFarlane, Antonio Zevola, and Meaghan Uhlinger each designed and executed original research experiments. They presented their projects Saturday at the RPI fair.
The students and their research topics were:
- “The Effect of Pine Needles on Oral Bacteria” by Miles Compani
- “The Effect of Acidic Conditions on the Survivability Rates of Aquatic Tardigrades” by Emily MacFarlane
- “The Effects of Microwave Heat and Radiation on the Growth of Different forms of Organisms” by Antonio Zevola
- “The Effect of Acid Conditions on Aquatic Stonefly Nymphs” by Meaghan Uhlinger
