In between holiday celebrations, the Broadalbin-Perth varsity boys basketball team was busy on the court, participating in the Vernon-Verona-Sherill (VVS) Holiday Tournament, Dec. 28-29. For the second year in a row, the Patriots took home the tournament trophy with wins over Waterville (67-35) and the host Red Devils (64-62) in the championship game.
For the second year in a row, senior Preston Taylor was selected tournament MVP after he scored 14 points in the title game, including a game-winning jump shot at the last second of the fourth quarter. Senior Joey Lapido, who had 16 points against VVS, was named to the all-tournament team.
