Today’s B-P Summer Book Club selection is “The Way,” written by Joseph Bruchac. Recommended for students in seventh or eighth grade, “The Way” tells the story of Cody LeBeau, a fatherless American Indian boy who is starting high school with the usual worries. He fits into none of the cliques at school, but still has a way of getting noticed. He is also teased because he stutters on occasion. Cody’s uncle then moves into town and becomes the one who teaches Cody how to survive adolescent doubt and make his way into manhood.
