This summer dozens of Broadalbin-Perth elementary students are participating in a free Summer Academy.
During this four-week session that began July 11, students in kindergarten through sixth grade are participating in a variety of hands-on learning opportunities in the core areas of math and English Language Arts, as well as participating in plenty of arts, team-building and outdoor activities.
Summer Academy teachers have been centering their activities on themes, including the Olympics, space and the rainforest.
This is the first year of the free Summer Academy in this format, which is made possible through a partnership with HFM BOCES. Transportation to and from school is being provided to all B-P Summer Academy participants thanks to a generous donation from the PTO.
