Today’s B-P Summer Book Club selection is “The Kissing Hand,” written by Audrey Penn and illustrated by Ruth Harper and Nancy Leak. This book is recommended for children entering preschool and it helps children deal with separation anxiety they might experience before heading off to school. In the book, school is starting in the forest and Chester Raccoon doesn’t want to go. To help him, Chester’s mom shares a family secret called the Kissing Hand, which gives him the reassurance of her love at anytime.
