Summer Story Hour will kick off at high noon Wednesday, July 13, in the media center at The Learning Community with a Wild, Wild West theme.
Children are invited to dress as cowboys and cowgirls for the event, which will include stories, crafts and a snack.
Parents should reserve their children’s spot at the story hour, which will run noon to 1 p.m., by calling 954-2650.
The themed Summer Story Hours will continue throughout the summer on the following Wednesdays:
- July 20, Super Readers. Dress up as a superhero.
- July 27, Rock Roll Read. Dress up as a rock star.
- Aug. 3, Farm Friends. Bring a stuffed animal.
- Aug. 10, Lost in Space. Dress like an alien.
- Aug. 17, Find the Magic. Dress like your favorite Disney character.
In addition, every day during the summer break, Broadalbin-Perth will announce a different book for students to read, both on the district website and Facebook page. Click here for more information on the Summer Book Club.
Elementary-aged children are encouraged to log their summer reading to turn in at the beginning of the school year. Those who would like to borrow books to read are welcome to visit the 1,000 Book Club in the TLC lobby, which is open every day.
