Members of the Missoula Children’s Theatre are spreading some theatrical joy and engaging students across the district ahead their performance of “Aladdin” later this week.
The Broadalbin-Perth PTO is sponsoring the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s appearances, which includes theater and makeup workshops at the Intermediate School and The Learning Community in addition to their performances Friday and Saturday.
On Tuesday, Missoula members Ryan Shepard and Kalin Honaker led a session with third- and fifth-graders on how the creative and scientific processes go hand in hand. As part of the activities, the students in small groups had to become human toasters, refrigerators and a bicycle, with each student acting as a part of the objects.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre members will continue their workshops in the district Wednesday and Thursday.
At 7:30 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday, about 60 B-P students in kindergarten through sixth grade will join the theater group on stage for performances of “Aladdin” in the Robin Blowers Auditorium. Tickets are $7 (free for children 3 and younger) and are available at the door.
