Dear members of the Broadalbin-Perth community,
Today, Broadalbin-Perth was informed of a positive test for COVID-19 for a Broadalbin-Perth High School student who attends the Career & Technical Education Center at HFM BOCES. As per our district’s reopening plan, the student was enrolled in the 100% remote learning model for their B-P courses and therefore has not been in the building. At this time, all Broadalbin-Perth school buildings remain open for in-person instruction.
We are working closely with the DOH and following all guidance provided to us. The Department of Health will take the lead role in any further steps that may be necessary, such as additional testing of individuals or contact tracing. If you or anyone in your household is at risk of exposure, you will be contacted directly by the DOH. If you are contacted by a DOH representative, please offer your complete cooperation.
While I fully understand you would probably like additional details about this situation, privacy laws prohibit us from identifying the individual involved. We are providing you with as much information as is allowed under the law. If you have particular questions or concerns, please contact the Fulton County Public Health Department at (518) 736-5720.
Please rest assured that our priority in Broadalbin-Perth is protecting the health, welfare, and safety of our students, employees, and community while complying with all government orders and guidelines related to the ongoing pandemic. Remember that if your child experiences any symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them home from school and contact your healthcare provider for further guidance.
Sincerely,
Stephen M. Tomlinson
Superintendent of Schools
