Four Broadalbin-Perth Middle School students teamed up last week to compete in the 13th annual regional Battle of the Books.
For this competition, four-person teams from six area middle school test their knowledge of 20 books on the “battle” list. The books represent a variety of genres, including, fantasy, realistic, historical and graphic fiction, history and biography.
This was the second year BPMS has been represented in the competition. The BPMS team consisted of Tyler Sheppie, Robert Hernandez, Claire Murphy and Jacob Sheppie.
According to BPMS media specialist Flo Glasser, who accompanied the students to the event, said the competition was fierce, but friendly, with very close scores among the competitors. “It was amazing to see the knowledge of books that was displayed,” she said.
