While classes are canceled and offices are closed to help mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), outdoor spaces at Broadalbin-Perth school campuses will remain open for those who adhere to guidance from medical experts. Specifically, those who visit B-P’s outdoor spaces must:
- Only do activities with people in your household and keep at least six feet between yourselves and others in the space.
- If you plan to use playground equipment, bring sanitizing wipes with you and wipe down all surfaces before and after you and your children use the equipment.
“Medical experts tell us that getting fresh air and exercise through solitary activities are good for boosting the immune system and general health,” said Superintendent of Schools Stephen Tomlinson. “We want to provide safe outdoor spaces for members of our community during this time of social distancing, but I implore everyone to do their part to keep these spaces safe and open.”
Please continue to refer to the district website for the most up-to-date information. Parents, employees and other individuals who have signed up to receive messages from the district via email, phone and SMS text message, as well as the district’s mobile app, will continue to receive regular updates in the coming days and weeks.
