Learning resources by school: High School  |  Middle School  |  Intermediate School  |  The Learning Community

Dear parents and guardians,

We are committed to providing educational resources for our students during this period of canceled classes. It is important to acknowledge, however, that there are practical limits to continuing our instructional program as planned.

Our commitment is to share a variety of resources for student-guided and parent-supported learning, review and practice. Accordingly, our teachers have created a collection of Google Classroom activities and other online resources that may benefit your child. This collection includes links and resources that will give students the opportunity to practice skills, review content, and explore topics at home. Our building leaders will also be available via email during normal school hours to answer any questions you may have regarding the resources.

Relatedly, we encourage you to the extent possible to maintain a schedule and routine for your child. You should also consider varying the amount of time using technology and media, and avoid excessive exposure to media coverage. Reassure children that they are safe and let them talk about their worries, share your own coping skills, and add time in your day for stress relief.

Making the decision to cancel classes was a collaborative, yet difficult decision. To get us back to school as usual as soon as possible, we encourage you to practice social distancing as advised by the Department of Health.

If your child in grades 5-12 does not have ready access to technology, please contact the main office at your child’s school at 518-954-2750 (IS), 518-954-2700 (MS) or 518-954-2600 (HS) before noon weekdays to make arrangements to get a loaner device to your child during this period of canceled classes.

Sincerely,
Stephen Tomlinson, Superintendent of Schools
Terry LaFountain, Director of Curriculum & Instruction
Mark Brooks, High School Principal
Wayne Bell, Middle School Principal
Dan Casey, Intermediate School Principal
Brad Strait, The Learning Community Principal
