While classes are canceled, school and district offices will close at noon weekdays starting Wednesday, March 18. District leaders made this decision in light of the most recent advice from public health experts in an effort to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
In addition, the district will discontinue in-person meetings until further notice and employees will, instead, utilize technology to collaborate on shared activities.
According to Superintendent of Schools Stephen Tomlinson, the reduced hours and enhanced social distancing will allow essential district personnel to continue the business of the school district while reducing the risk of person-to-person spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). It is important to note that there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Broadalbin-Perth community at this time.
Students who need to access materials from their desks or lockers may do so 8-10 a.m. daily through Friday, March 20. Students and their families must check in at the school main office when they arrive. Anyone who needs to access the school and cannot get there during the designated hours should call their school main office to make other arrangements.

Parents, employees and other individuals who have signed up to receive messages from the district via email, phone and SMS text message, as well as the district’s mobile app, will continue to receive regular updates in the coming days and weeks.
