There will be no school for students in the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District on Thursday, March 19. The district will use both March 19 and March 20, a planned superintendent’s conference day, to prepare instructional staff for the possibility of a school closure because of COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.

While there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Broadalbin-Perth community, district leaders are taking proactive steps to prepare to implement elearning in the case of a multiple-day school closure. Through elearning, both teachers and students would use technology to continue the education process while schools are closed.

Coronavirus is a rapidly evolving situation. The most up-to-date information about the effects of coronavirus on Broadalbin-Perth schools and the district’s regularly scheduled activities will be posted on the district website. Parents, employees and other individuals who have signed up to receive messages from the district through the Patriot Portal and the district’s mobile app will continue to receive regular updates.
